The bud break :
After the harvest period, autumn arrives, the leaves fall… the vine enters a phase of well-deserved rest after having worked all year to give beautiful grapes for the new vintage.
Between February and March, the winegrowers begin the pruning of the vine, this work is crucial for the harvest.
As soon as the temperature rises, the sap will also become active in the plant. The small buds will make their appearances it is the budburst.
We distinguish several stages: the bud in the cotton, the green tip and the exit of the leaves.
During this period, the greatest fear is frosts which can burn the buds and thus cause the absence of grapes.
